Red Plum Coupons

There are a lot of us who receive the red plum coupon insert in our Tuesday/Wednesday mail but for some reason there are a lot of addresses or zip codes that do not. If you would like to request these coupons, you can email Red Plum and hopefully you can get them to start delivering them to you. Let me know if you have any luck with this.

My Target Deals

At Target this week, I came across the following deals:

Tyson Chicken nuggets in the box on clearance for $1.88 ( use $.55/1 in 3/8 SS)

Target has a policy now that you can only purchase 3 of the same item when using coupons. This is per visit, not per transaction. If you have more than 2 coupons for a product, try purchasing different flavors or varieites. This has worked for me a few times. Good Luck!

Last Minute Walgreens Trip!

Okay, I decided it was time that I began shopping at Walgreens more often. We are moving soon and there is a Walgreens around the corner from our new home. I love CVS so much and their program is so straight forward. Walgreens program is a bit more tricky. Also, beginning in May, Walgreens will be redoing some of their rewards programs. I can't wait to see what they do. Anyways, I decided to make a quick, last minute trip because they were offering so many items with equal RR. (Example- Colgate Max Fresh Toothbrush $3.49 earn $3.50 RR)

I also want to say, that I have heard from some people out there who have yet to begin shopping at CVS or Walgreens that they don't like that "we" (CVS and Walgreens fanatics) buy items that we don't really need just to earn ECB's or RR's. I have to say that I try to come up with a reason to use everything that I buy or I give it away to family/friends who could use it. I am not a wasteful person and don't believe that we should buy things that we are not going to use. So having said that here is what I bought for less then $20 out of pocket and with $6.50 RR to use later:
5 Edge Shaving Creams (to be used as a fun boredom buster over the summer)
5 Scunci Hair Elastics (18 pk) (Some for me and some to give to my sister in-law for these cute hair towels she makes)

I was pretty pleased with my purchase. I didn't plan anything out ahead of time, which is very unlike me. Remember, this was a last minute trip. All in all, these are items that I needed or will need and would have paid a ton more going some where else and buying these separately. Plus, I have RR to use next week and begin rolling from here. You have to start somewhere and I think this is a good start.

Frugal Tip

Fill your own water jugs. Inside/outside every grocery store, there is a water refilling machine. This water is filtered water and the machines are cleaned on a daily basis. You can also find water windmills located at some gas stations and other areas around town. You can fill a gallon of water for $.25 for the grocery store locations or $.35 a gallon at the water windmills. This is a very frugal way to get nice, clean filtered water for your family. We have been doing this for over 2 years now. It has saved us a lot of money doing this versus buying bottled water. Give it a try!

I am sorry for the lack of posts this week. I am enjoying Spring Break with my boys and husband.
